A showcase of Leeds Beckett University's students in the School of Public Relations and Journalism

I graduated from the University of Leeds in July 2017, achieving a 2:1 in Media and Communication. I am now studying for an MA in PR and strategic communication at Leeds Beckett University. I would love to pursue a career in the PR and marketing communications industry and to be given the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects.
My degree puts a strong emphasis on undertaking projects that you would complete in a commercial environment. One of those projects was with IKEA. They wanted to broaden their influence on the student population in Leeds. In teams we worked to a brief and came up with tactics they could implement to reach the student market. We then pitched our ideas to senior members of staff at IKEA, very similar to the ‘Apprentice’ process!
I have also been fortunate enough too able to complete a 6-week internship with BMB Advertising Agency. I worked with their social media team getting stuck into a variety of different projects. I helped community manage some of their media channels, and provided creative support for new campaigns and PR events.
I am an avid team player both inside and outside of the working environment. Outside of university I play netball, and I have also played county level at hockey. I am also a very competitive and determined individual who thrives under pressure.
I thoroughly enjoy a challenge and one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced so far was studying Spanish in Spain for a month with no prior experience learning the language. I embraced the whole experience and gained fantastic memories. I met students from all over the world, gained lifelong friendships, and I felt extremely confident travelling independently.
I have a passion for keeping active, cooking new recipes, and travelling to new destinations.
