A showcase of Leeds Beckett University's students in the School of Public Relations and Journalism

My early life was spent mostly in a small village in North Wales before moving to southern Spain at the age of 10. My five years in the country gave me an invaluable experience, as well as exposing me to many different nationalities and cultures through attending an international school. This experience sparked a keen interest in languages and how we communicate in different cultures. Since then I have lived in various areas of the UK, settling in Leeds after moving to the city for University.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media Technologies for which I was awarded a First Class Honours, I have worked in both creative and non-creative roles within a top-rated advertising agency in Leeds. Thanks to these experiences, I am competent in an array of areas including, video editing, graphic design, motion graphics, social media, and administrative work.
As a skilled presenter with experience of client presentation, I am confident with meeting and speaking to new people in both casual and professional environments. I was lucky enough to be invited to give a guest talk to students at Leeds Beckett University on two occasions.
I have been involved with several volunteering opportunities in the past, for example recording audio for the official opening Leeds Music Trust’s new home. Presently, I am seeking volunteering opportunities which will give me an invaluable experience and enhance the skills I already have. Hopefully, my application to be a social media rep for Leeds Young Film Festival, making sure relevant information about the festival is effectively communicated.
Currently, I am a student on the MA Public Relations & Strategic Communication course at Leeds Beckett University and hope to gain employment which can tie in both my undergraduate degree and my MA.
