After finishing my Marketing bachelor with a major in marketing communications, I decided to broaden my knowledge through the double master’s degree in International Communication. My love for other cultures and countries, and my educational background, were two of the reasons why I choose to continue my studies and start this master, offered by the Geert Hofstede Consortium. After spending my first semester at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands, I am now specializing in PR and Digital Communication Management at the Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom. My love for exploring other cultures and countries has led to several amazing experiences of living abroad. I was born and raised in Groningen, situated in the north of the Netherlands, and I was lucky enough to have lived in Spain (Sevilla and Malaga) to learn the Spanish language and in the United Kingdom for both my bachelor’s (London) and now my master’s degree (Leeds). During my bachelor’s degree I have worked as a marketing intern for a travel company. I was responsible for writing content for the website, conducting research, and writing and sending out a press release. This press release got mentioned on websites and tv shows all over the world, and this was such a thrill, that I would love to recreate that feeling. Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to work in multicultural groups on a variety of projects for various clients, such as Shell, Hellema, Groningen Seaport, and now IKEA. While I am working, I am detail orientated, thorough, accurate and organized. On top of that, I consider myself to be proactive, time efficient, and empathic. In the future, I would love to work in the PR field, or for a company related to sustainability, culture or design. LinkendIn Profile: www.linkedin.com/in/laura-wijnolst
