I am a second-year Public Relations with Journalism student at Leeds Beckett University. Prior to starting my undergraduate degree, I achieved A levels in English Language and Sociology at grade B. Throughout my two years of study I have accomplished strong grades, most recently achieving a 1st and two 2:1’s in my first semester of second year. Aside from my studies, I have a part-time job as a supervisor at New Look, a highly demanding job, which provides me with many transferable skills. These include, management skills, teamwork skills, customer service, and dealing with daily problems. These skills will benefit me hugely in the public relations industry, the responsibility has matured and enthused me in the world of work. Balancing full-time study and a part-time job means that being organised and having time-management skills is essential and I strive myself on this by creating timetables of my schedules. I have a passion for writing and social media, therefore I created and manage a social media account for a local business which I helped reach over 300 followers in a couple of weeks. I have a huge enthusiasm for my career in public relations, a job in an in-house PR team appeals greatly to me, as an innovative and responsible individual I believe I would strive to give my efforts to a company where I could focus my strengths. I have a huge interest in television and the media, in my spare time, I often write TV reviews on articles discussing new television shows. This industry appeals greatly to me in the future, a career working for a television network would be hugely rewarding and fascinating.
